To not mince words: it is alcoholic root beer. But with a great backstory/heritage to it, so you don’t feel like a pre-teen induldging in Daddy’s soda pop.
Check out artintheage.com for more on the pre-prohibition backstory and suggestions on how to make a root beer float or grafitti artist BORF inspired cocktail. I have been very unadventurous with mine thus far and just pore over ice, which I absolutely recommend.
Shout out to Alex at The Pantalones for filling me in…

Field Notes “National Crop” Edition
Posted: May 1, 2012 Filed under: things | Tags: field notes Leave a comment »As a now full fledged junkie fiend for the anything that Field Notes let’s me purchase, it was a glorious day when the latest limited edition pack landed on my desk.
This time around, the “National Crop” Edition celebrates America’s agricultural heritage, complete with a patch (presumably for my Boy Scout Uniform) and a nifty map of where each crop grows in the USA.
Congratulations Field Notes on outdoing yourselves once again.
Coach Totes
Posted: April 21, 2012 Filed under: style | Tags: Coach 2 Comments »Earlier today I had the privilege of spending a little time on the roof of Coach HQ with a couple of recent releases from the men’s offering. These bags are boldly styled, highly detailed and meticulously crafted.
The first is a great looking washed canvas tote, with a contrast leather base and raw vachetta handles and trimming. What is really genius is the removable interior piece, a clear pouch wrapped in leather. Simple and well designed and at a good price. Washed Canvas Beach Tote $348
The second bag is absolutely a piece of art. Coach’s collaboration with renowned studio artist James Nares has been receiving a good deal of buzz and rightly so. This bag is constructed of a single piece of canvas, eloquently featuring Nares’s signature brush strokes. These are not cheap, but considering the price of a Nares print and the fact that these are limited to 175 per color, it is worth rationalizing a purchase. James Nares Tote $798
Both bags were released earlier this week on Coach.com and are available in select stores.
Shoe Shine

As an unfrequent flyer that really only leaves me one option:

SRT Viper

It may be the ultimate American sports car, debuting near the height of American excess in 1992. It has been on the short-list of dream cars for boys and men everywhere since then.
